HOW I CAN ADJUST THE BRIGHTNESS ON MY LUMIA PHONE

On the Start screen, swipe left, and tap Settings > Brightness.

Automatically adjust is set by default, then the light sensor observes lighting conditions and adjust the illumination of the screen and bottom keys to the environment. When you switch off the automatic brightness control, you can choose between three levels low, medium and high.

When using high brightness settings or when displaying white or vibrant colors the screen will use more energy. Obviously this will also influence battery life.

HOW I CAN INCREASE LIFE OF MY NOKIA

Many apps in your device increase the demand on battery power and minimize the battery lifetime. To save battery energy, take the following steps:
  1.  Charge the battery fully.
  2. Activate power saving mode. Press the power key, and select Activate power saving.
  3. Change the synchronization frequency for your mailbox. Select Menu > Applications > Mail (or Menu > Mail), your mailbox, and Options > Settings, and the relevant sync frequency settings.
  4. Mute unnecessary tones, like key tones.
  5. Use  headphones, rather than the loudspeaker.
  6. Deactivate the background animation effects
  7. Deactivate the Big clock screen saver. Select Menu > Settings and Themes > Screen saver > none.
  8. Activate a dark theme.
  9. Change the length of the time-out period after which the device display switches off. To adjust the light sensor that observes lighting conditions and adjusts the display brightness, in the display settings, select Light sensor.
a.       If the network mode is set to use both GSM and 3G (dual mode) networks, the device searches for the 3G network. To set your device to use only the GSM network.
  1. Deactivate Bluetooth when not needed.
  2. Stop your device from scanning for available WLANs in the background (Symbian Anna and earlier). Select Menu > Settings and Connectivity > WLAN > Options > Settings > Show WLAN availability > Never.
  3. When connecting to the internet, use a WLAN connection, rather than a packet data (GPRS or 3G) connection.
  4. Set the packet data connection to be established only when needed.
  5. Close the applications you are not using.
We are sure if you take these steps you will easily increase the life time of your battery.

My lumia memory is low.

If your phone's memory is low, then remove things you no longer need. In many cases, you may not need to keep some files on your phone.
  • For pictures and videos you can use Microsoft SkyDrive as additional storage. To increase free space on your phone, move pictures and  videos from the camera roll to the SkyDrive.
  • Remove old Office files on your phone (press Start, then swipe left to App list and click Office).
  • Delete browsing history, temporary files, cookies and saved passwords in Internet Explorer (Settings > applications > Internet Explorer > delete history).
  • Delete previous map searches and temporary files from your phone (Settings > applications > maps > delete history).
  • Delete Bing search history, including Bing Vision and Bing Music searches (Settings > applications > search > delete history).
In Windows Phone 8, use the Storage Check application. With this app you can view the whole information of the phone storage, remove downloaded maps from your phone and clear temporary files, such as leftovers from app installs and updates, Sky Drive uploads and PC file transfers. Go to Settings > Storage check, swipe over to the Details view.
To get Storage Check app, you need an updated version of Extra info system app. Once Extras info sys app updating is complete, Storage Check appears in the settings menu.
